Dr. Johanna Mair

Professor of of Strategic Management, IESE Business School

Dr. Mair is Associate Professor in the Strategic Management department at IESE. She currently teaches competitive strategy, corporate strategy and social entrepreneurship in the MBA program, the specialization course on strategy in the PhD program, and course development in the International Faculty Development Program (IFDP).

Dr. Mair’s research and teaching interests fall within the domain of corporate strategy and social entrepreneurship. More specifically, she is interested in the role of middle managers and how to foster entrepreneurial activity in established organizations. Furthermore, Dr. Mair investigates business models that aim at integrating economic and social value creation.

Before earning her Ph.D in management with a specialization in strategy from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France), Dr. Mair was directly involved in many aspects of the executive decision making process working in international banking.

Dr. Mair has a wide academic background with a Ph.D. in Management, INSEAD (France), Master of Science, INSEAD (France), Diploma in International Relations, Johns Hopkins University, Bologna (Italy) and Masters in Social and Economic Sciences, Wirtschaftsuniversitaet, Vienna, Austria.
