Director, IESE Platform Strategy and Sustainability
Dr. Seelos researches innovative ventures considered to be role models for sustainable business strategies. He focuses on entrepreneurs who discover new solutions to achieve social and economic development, and how they collaborate with or pose a threat to global companies.
At FSG (formerly Foundation Strategy Group), he was advising organizations on developing strategies in light of emerging issues of the sustainable development agenda. At IESE business school and other management institutes he is involved in course development, teaching and executive training ranging from competitive strategy to social entrepreneurship.
Dr. Seelos has a diverse academic and professional background with an M.Sc. in Human Nutrition, Ph.D. in Molecular Biology (both from the University of Vienna), M.B.A. (University of Chicago) and has previously worked as Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna; Senior Advisor for Disarmament Strategies of Iraq’s Biological Weapons capabilities at the United Nations (UNSCOM); Vice President of Product Development at Transclick, a start-up in New York and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability at BT (Europe) amongst other positions.
He has published substantial original research in top journals such as “Nature”, managerial journals, business school working papers and newspaper articles.
