A global leader in consumer electronics needed to improve time, costs and data quality when assessing new product designs for the EMEA market.

A Piece of Pie carried out an investigation to devise a new tool for gaining insight into the customer motivations and preferences prompt to the buying process.
We created a customized methodology to help answer design related questions of the marketing and design units of our client. Two pilot studies were conducted in three European countries to ensure the methodology's effectiveness, efficiency and repeatability.

Results

In conjunction with the client, A Piece of Pie created a tool to assess new product designs that: (1) is executed within a timeframe of one week, with cost per country dropping by 40%, (2) provides relevant information for design and marketing using ethnographic methods, (3) can be outsourced to any research agency with fieldwork experience.
